Training Rollout for a Large Financial Institution
The Client
A large US financial institution needed to train Japanese brokers on a new product being rolled out. A successful roll-out would spell success in the Japanese market; poor translations and training and it’s sayonara.
The Challenge
The complexity of this financial product’s Japanese roll-out included cultural differences, large volumes of documents, a regulatory-driven environment, and a complex approval process.
The Solution
Prisma first developed a project-specific, Web-based tracking tool to manage all documentation, version control, and communications over the 12-hour time difference between New York and Tokyo. We then developed a content matrix identifying localizable vs. non-localizable content, and finally proceeded with translation, QC, and a back-translation legal review.
The Outcome
The successful Japanese sales rollout led to market success for the new product, and a solid sense of assurance for the company’s legal team, which was responsible for accuracy and risk mitigation.

Tip
There are several ways to reduce the risk of financial and banking mistranslation, including back translations and a financial/legal edit cycle.
